Chelsea Veteran defender is delighted to return to full training ahead of the West London derby against the bees this weekend.

Chelsea defender has confirmed his return to full first-team training after a recent spell on the sidelines.

Thiago Silva shared on Instagram several stories of him participating in sessions ahead of Chelsea’s long-awaited return to Premier League action.

Silva hasn’t been seen on the pitch since the early stages of the second half against Crystal Palace last month, when the Blues completed a dramatic turnaround victory. His injury kept him out of the EFL Cup final, leaving the impression that he was the type of figure the club needed at Wembley.

Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi have impressed as a defensive pairing, particularly in the hard-fought draw against Manchester City, having an experienced figure like Silva ready and waiting is certainly a positive.

The 39 year old Brazilian star is no doubt one of the most experienced player in the premiership. His leadership role and importance to the team of young players on the pitch can not be over overemphasized.

The Blues are preparing for their return to the Premier League with the West London derby against Brentford tomorrow.

The pressure is on manager Mauricio Pochettino and his staff, with the side currently in the bottom half of the table.

This match may serve as an audition for Ivan Toney for several big clubs, with Chelsea being particularly interested in a move for the Englishman in the summer.

Defeat to Brentford in this weekend premier league fixture will push Chelsea further down the table from 11th place closer to the relegation zone than the top four position.
