The Las Vegas Raiders recently made headlines by trading All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets after weeks of speculation.

Now, rumors have surfaced around edge rusher Maxx Crosby, placing him at the center of potential trade talks ahead of the NFL trade deadline in November.

Adams, who had been sidelined for several games due to a hamstring injury, made a quick recovery upon joining the Jets. Meanwhile, Crosby, 27, has been battling a high-ankle sprain but has continued playing through the pain.

Crosby’s name began circulating in NFL trade rumors once again after Detroit Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson suffered a season-ending injury in Week 6. As a Michigan native, Crosby has previously hinted at a desire to play for a Super Bowl contender, fueling trade speculation following Adams’ departure.

In his recent comments, Crosby emphasized his desire to compete for championships, stating:

“I’m not here for a rebuild. I want to win now, no matter where that is.”

This statement ignited excitement across NFL forums, particularly among Lions fans.

However, Raiders owner Mark Davis has decisively shut down the rumors. Addressing reporters on Tuesday, Davis denied any truth to the speculation, saying:

“It’s unfortunate today, but there’s so much outside chatter that is not true. It’s not coming from any sources. It’s not coming from anything. My basic thing is never to answer all that stuff because, otherwise, you get trapped in this black hole. It’s just not happening.”

Crosby, one of the few standout performers drafted by the Raiders in recent years, carries a cap hit of $30.483 million in 2024, followed by $28.219 million in 2025 and $24.823 million in 2026. With the team struggling to attract fans and maintain relevance, Davis seems unlikely to consider trading one of the franchise’s most recognizable players, especially mid-season.

Despite Crosby’s expressed desire to win immediately, the Raiders appear firm in their stance. Even if his name resurfaces in trade discussions, it seems improbable that the organization will entertain offers for the two-time All-Pro defender during the regular season.
