As the NFL season approaches, speculation is mounting that Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams might soon request a trade.
According to a recent analysis by Ryan Fowler for Bleacher Report, Adams could be among the next high-profile players to seek a move, given his growing frustrations with the Raiders’ current situation.
Adams, who began his football journey at Palo Alto High School and later became a standout at Fresno State, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He initially played behind seasoned receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb but soon rose to prominence, forming a powerful connection with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
This partnership led Adams to top the league in receiving touchdowns in 2020 and achieve career-high stats in 2021.

During his time with the Packers, Adams earned significant accolades, including three First-team All-Pro selections and six Pro Bowl appearances. However, following a breakdown in contract negotiations in 2022, Adams was traded to the Raiders. His first season in Las Vegas saw him leading the league in receiving touchdowns once again, solidifying his reputation as one of the NFL’s elite wide receivers.
Despite this success, Adams’ experience in Las Vegas has been far from smooth. The Raiders’ instability at the quarterback position, particularly after Derek Carr’s departure, has reportedly been a source of discontent for the star receiver. With Gardner Minshew expected to start this season, the situation appears to be a stark contrast to the stability Adams enjoyed in Green Bay with Rodgers.
Fowler’s analysis highlights that Adams, who will turn 32 in December, is likely still focused on competing for a Super Bowl—a goal that may seem increasingly distant with the Raiders.
Earlier this year, Adams downplayed trade rumors, emphasizing his commitment to the Raiders and praising the improved morale under new head coach Antonio Pierce. However, with the team’s trajectory uncertain, the possibility of Adams seeking a trade remains a topic of considerable interest as the season approaches.
