In an unexpected blunder, Las Vegas reporters were caught on a hot mic criticizing Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew before his Wednesday press conference.
Minshew, who recently signed with the Raiders, started in their 12-point loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite outplaying Justin Herbert statistically—completing 25 of 33 passes for 257 yards, one touchdown, and one interception—Minshew’s performance drew harsh comments from local media.
Unaware that their conversation was live on YouTube, one reporter expressed doubt about Minshew’s upcoming game against Baltimore, saying:
“Unless Gardner really kicks a–, he’s going to get his a– kicked by Baltimore.”
Another reporter questioned the decision to let former quarterback Derek Carr go, adding:
“Not a fan [of Minshew]. Not a fan. But I just want them to win.”
They further criticized Minshew’s game, labeling his throws as inconsistent and describing his overall performance as “terrible.”
The reporters remain unidentified, but the gaffe exposed their candid opinions on Minshew’s ability to lead the Raiders moving forward.
