Leeds United’s Joel Piroe, one of the club’s significant acquisitions last summer, may be on the move again as interest from various clubs grows.

Following the full ownership transition to 49ers Enterprises, Leeds brought in nine new players, with mixed results.

Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon were standout performers, with Leeds securing Rodon permanently for £10 million.

Other players like Sam Byram, Glen Kamara, Ilia Gruev, and Piroe had respectable seasons, though they aren’t considered as indispensable as Ampadu and Rodon. Conversely, Jaidon Anthony, Djed Spence, and Karl Darlow failed to make a substantial impact.

Despite three new signings this summer, the club’s focus remains on potential departures. The recent £40 million sale of Archie Gray to Tottenham has alleviated some financial pressure, but it hasn’t deterred interest in Leeds’ players. Crysencio Summerville continues to attract top-level interest, while a £30 million offer for Georginio Rutter from Brighton has been declined. Kamara, Gruev, and Illan Meslier are also linked with possible exits.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey provided an update on Piroe, revealing that there is a significant chance he could leave after just a year at Elland Road. Bailey mentioned that Leeds might bring in a new striker, with potential exits including Piroe and Patrick Bamford.

Piroe, who was signed for an initial £10.5 million, has not settled well in his roles either as a forward or a number 10. If Leeds can recoup their investment and reinvest in a more fitting striker or attacking midfielder, it could be considered a sound business move.

The club aims to manage their squad efficiently, balancing incoming and outgoing transfers to strengthen their position for the upcoming season.
