Leeds United is deliberating whether to make another attempt to sign Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp, following their initial effort to include him in the deal that sent Archie Gray to North London.

This interest in Skipp is partly driven by Leeds manager Daniel Farke, who previously worked with the 23-year-old at Norwich City, where they won the Championship together. Farke’s admiration for Skipp’s abilities makes him keen to bring the midfielder to Yorkshire.

Initially, Leeds focused on finalizing Gray’s departure to address profit and sustainability issues, but they now have the luxury of time to contemplate a renewed approach for Skipp. The 23-year-old’s potential move to Leeds seems logical, especially in light of Gray’s early exit during the pre-season. With Gray’s preferred position in midfield left vacant and ongoing speculation about Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara, additional midfield reinforcements are necessary for Leeds.

Skipp’s experience in the Championship and his understanding of what it takes to succeed in the division make him a valuable asset for Leeds.

Despite his young age, his career experience could provide significant benefits to the Elland Road squad. However, it remains uncertain whether Skipp would be willing to leave the Premier League for the Championship, especially as other top-tier clubs may also be interested in his services if Tottenham decides to let him go.

Farke’s previous working relationship with Skipp could play a crucial role in attracting him to Leeds, but the final decision rests with the club. Meanwhile, updates on other Leeds United transfer activities continue to emerge, including talks about Wilfried Gnonto’s potential exit as Brighton shows interest.
