Leeds United are now firmly in the race to secure the signing of Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare this summer, as reported by TEAMtalk.

The 26-year-old has become a highly sought-after player following his decision to leave Coventry on a free transfer, turning down a new contract with the Sky Blues after four years.

O’Hare, who netted six goals and provided three assists in the Championship last season, has drawn the attention of several clubs, including Southampton and Burnley.

Leeds, under the management of Daniel Farke, are keen to add O’Hare to their squad as they look to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.

The potential signing of O’Hare would be a significant boost for Leeds, particularly as they face the possibility of losing key players like Georginio Rutter, who has been linked with a move away from Elland Road.

O’Hare, primarily an attacking midfielder, has the versatility to also play as a center-forward, making him a valuable addition to the team.

Leeds’ interest in O’Hare comes at a critical time, following their failure to secure promotion to the Premier League after losing the Championship play-off final to Southampton. This setback could lead to the departure of several high-profile players, including Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, and Wilfried Gnonto, all of whom have been linked with transfers.

With financial constraints in mind, securing a player of O’Hare’s caliber on a free transfer would be a savvy move for Leeds. It would signal their intent to push for promotion next season, reinforcing the squad without incurring significant transfer fees.

Daniel Farke’s preparations for the upcoming season must begin immediately to ensure Leeds are competitive and ready to challenge for promotion again.

Adding O’Hare to the roster would not only fill the potential gaps left by departing players but also demonstrate Leeds’ ambition to other Championship contenders.
