Leeds United’s injury crisis deepened in their 1-1 draw against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

The Whites were already struggling with a growing list of sidelined players, including Ethan Ampadu, Manor Solomon, Dan James, and Max Wober.

The team’s situation is especially concerning as Ampadu, who is versatile in both midfield and defense, may not return before the end of the year.

During the match, Leeds fell behind early when Norwich’s Josh Sargent scored in the 15th minute. While Leeds equalized through Wilfried Gnonto’s assist to Largie Ramazani in the 60th minute, the night was overshadowed by another injury setback. Midfielder Ilia Gruev was forced off the field in the 20th minute due to a knee injury, compounding Leeds’ injury struggles.

Head coach Daniel Farke acknowledged the severity of the situation, stating that Gruev’s injury didn’t look promising, with scans scheduled to assess the damage. Farke also commended his players for stepping up despite their inexperience, particularly Ao and Joe, who featured in their first major league game.

Leeds face a demanding schedule, with a critical match against Sunderland on Friday, before a brief respite during the FIFA international break. However, with several players expected to leave for international duty, the club’s injury concerns may continue to escalate.
