Leicester City has intensified their pursuit of Juventus winger Matias Soule with a new £21 million offer.

The club aims to finalize the deal next week, prioritizing Soule as a key target for their new head coach, Steve Cooper. The offer includes an initial £17 million payment, with an additional £4 million based on instalments and player appearances.

Soule, a 21-year-old Argentina under-20 international, spent last season on loan at Serie B’s Frosinone, where he was teammates with Leicester’s recent £13 million acquisition, Caleb Okoli. While AS Roma is also interested in Soule, Leicester currently leads the race for his signature.

Since replacing Enzo Maresca as head coach, Cooper has been active in the transfer market. Following the £30 million transfer of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea, Cooper has signed former Fulham forward Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Chelsea’s young midfielder Michael Golding. Additionally, Leicester secured defender Abdul Fatawu for £14 million from Sporting.

Cooper is now focused on strengthening the forward line, seeking alternatives to Jamie Vardy, Tom Cannon, and Patson Daka. Leicester’s Premier League campaign begins at home against Tottenham on August 19.
