Manchester City is contemplating a bid for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze amid uncertainty surrounding Kevin De Bruyne’s future, according to the Mirror.
The Premier League champions are exploring options as Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad eyes De Bruyne, whose contract expires in 2025. De Bruyne, 33, might leave City within the next year, ending his long tenure that began in 2015.
Eze, who has a release clause of approximately £60 million, is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, which seeks to pair him with James Maddison.
The 26-year-old could become the latest Crystal Palace star to exit Selhurst Park this summer, following Michael Olise’s move to Bayern Munich.
Manchester City has long admired Eze, who has three years remaining on his Crystal Palace contract.
Pep Guardiola values Eze’s low-maintenance temperament and versatility, making him a suitable candidate to fill potential gaps in City’s lineup. Eze was crucial for Palace last season, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists as the team finished 10th in the Premier League.
The potential pursuit of Eze could accelerate if De Bruyne considers offers from the Middle East. De Bruyne has not ruled out a move, stating he is “open to everything” as links to the Saudi Pro League emerge.
