Manchester United have shown a growing interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo, placing him on their transfer radar this summer.

Strengthening the midfield has been a top priority for United, with targets like Manuel Ugarte initially pursued, but negotiations proved difficult. As a result, United has shifted focus to alternative options, including Danilo and Burnley’s Sander Berge, who has also been under consideration.

Recent reports from Brazil indicate that Danilo’s agent has received inquiries from both Manchester United and AC Milan. Although no official offers have been made, Nottingham Forest is reportedly open to selling the 23-year-old midfielder for around €40 million (£34 million).

Danilo, who joined Forest in January 2023, has quickly established himself as a key player, making 49 appearances and scoring six goals. His playing style has been likened to that of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, a player Danilo himself admires and models his game after.

Manchester United may see Danilo as a long-term prospect for their midfield under Erik ten Hag’s management.
