In a familiar turn of events, Nottingham Forest is grappling with yet another injury setback.

This time, the unfortunate news concerns central defender Willy Boly, who has sustained a calf injury during a routine training session. The injury has ruled him out of the Ivory Coast fixtures in the African Cup of Nations qualifying, according to reports from L’Avenir.

As Nottingham Forest’s season continues, the club faces the challenge of managing player injuries, a recurring issue since their promotion to the Premier League. With 14 players currently away on international duty, the injury to Boly comes as a significant blow.

Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo will now need to rely on his medical staff to assess Boly’s condition and determine the appropriate course of action as the team prepares for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Liverpool.

Ivory Coast coach Emerson Fae confirmed Boly’s injury during a recent press conference, explaining that the defender sustained the injury just before their match against Chad. Fae indicated that Boly would be unavailable for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers and has returned to Nottingham Forest for recovery.

Despite the recent acquisition of Morato on transfer deadline day, Forest will be keen to have as many players available as possible. Boly, though not the first choice, has been a valuable asset for Forest and his experience could be crucial for the team.

With options such as Andrew Omobamidele available, Forest still has resources to draw upon, but Boly’s absence will be felt. The hope now is for a swift recovery so that he can return to contribute to the team’s efforts this season.
