Manchester City, currently in third place in the Premier League, trails Arsenal by a single point and is just behind second-placed Liverpool.

The upcoming match at The Etihad against Arsenal is pivotal for the title race, especially for Arsenal, who aim to clinch the title after coming close last season.

Pep Guardiola’s contract will terminate at the end of next season.

Amidst this tense backdrop, reports have surfaced about City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, planning to leave the club once his contract concludes at the end of next season.

Guardiola, who took the helm at City in 2016 following a notable stint with Bayern Munich, initially experienced a trophy-less first season, a rarity in his managerial career.

However, he has since significantly bolstered City’s trophy cabinet, securing 16 titles, including five Premier League crowns and a Champions League victory.

Last season, Guardiola led City to an impressive treble, capturing the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. Despite this success, it is reported that Guardiola, who extended his contract in 2023 through the summer of 2025, will exit the club upon its completion.

There’s speculation that Guardiola may take a sabbatical from football, reminiscent of his break after leaving Barcelona in 2012.

This departure is set against the backdrop of another significant exit, that of Jurgen Klopp from Liverpoo at the season’s end, marking the conclusion of a memorable rivalry between Klopp and Guardiola in English football.
