Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has set his sights on bringing European football back to the club, but only after solidifying its position in the Premier League.
The Greek businessman, who also owns Olympiacos, recently led the team to victory in the Europa Conference League, making them the first Greek club to win a European title.
Speaking about his vision for Nottingham Forest, Marinakis expressed his belief that the Reds can follow in Olympiacos’ footsteps. He noted that when he first spoke about Olympiacos’ European ambitions, many doubted his plans, only to be proven wrong.
Marinakis emphasized that Nottingham Forest has the necessary foundation to succeed.
“If we perform well in the Premier League, there’s no reason why we can’t compete in European competitions,” he stated.
His ambitions come at a significant moment, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of legendary manager Brian Clough’s passing, a figure who led Forest to their historic European Cup victories.
For now, the primary goal remains to secure a strong position in the Premier League before setting sights on Europe.
