Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis, known for his recent addition of NFL icons Tom Brady and Richard Seymour as minority stakeholders, is set to sell another portion of the team.
According to sources, Davis plans to offload 15% of the franchise he inherited in 2011, following in the footsteps of previous sales in recent weeks.
Prominent buyers include Egon Durban, co-CEO of Silver Lake and Endeavor chairman, and Michael Meldman, a luxury golf resort developer. Each is poised to acquire 7.5% shares of the team, bringing their combined ownership to 15%.
Meldman, a Las Vegas resident and founder of Discovery Land Co., joins Durban in diversifying the team’s ownership structure. Despite these changes, Davis will retain his controlling interest and remain the primary decision-maker.
The NFL Finance Committee is set to review the proposal during meetings in Irving, Texas, on December 10-11. While some concerns exist over Durban’s ties to WME Sports through Endeavor, sources indicate these are unlikely to hinder approval.
Brady, now a minority owner, is expected to wield significant influence in football operations. Meanwhile, the Raiders have not commented on the potential ownership shifts.
