A video surfaced showing a group of supporters verbally attacking Everton players at London Euston train station as they passed by. Maupay, who was an unused substitute during the match, took to social media to express his frustration, questioning the normalization of such behavior. He highlighted the absurdity of people gathering at a train station just to hurl abuse at players who are, in his words, “trying their best.” Despite the negative interactions, the video also captured some fans high-fiving the players, indicating a mix of support and frustration among the fanbase.
Maupay, who joined Everton from Brighton for £15 million in 2022, has struggled to make an impact, scoring just one goal in 32 appearances. Despite a recent loan offer from Marseille, Everton decided to retain the French striker.
