Some managers in the EPL have shared their opinions on the planned introduction of blue cards and sin – bins in football.
Asked during press conference on Friday, Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino opined that;
“It’s difficult to explain. We don’t have much information. It’ll create delays, make it more complicated for referees and the fans. My feeling now is that it’s not a good idea but we will see.”
“It’s an opportunity to see how it will work and then have a better opinion. For me, my first feeling is that it’s complicated to add another card to the game. There’s too man question marks.”
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp also weighed in on the matter. He said that ;
“I’d keep things as simple as possible”.
It doesn’t sound like a fantastic idea at the moment… but I can’t remember the last fantastic idea from these guys (IFAB) and I am 56”.
In the same tune, Spurs coach Ange Postecoglou replied when thrown the question by saying;
“Just show a yellow card or send someone off… adding another one, what’s that gonna do?
“I struggle to understand why there’s this sudden urgency to bring in new things. I don’t know if there’s much wrong with the game as I see it and why a different colour card will make a difference”, Postecoglou querried.
