The Miami Hurricanes are working hard to close the gap in their recruitment efforts for four-star running back Shekai Mills-Knight, who is set to announce his college commitment on August 17.
Mills-Knight, a top-300 prospect nationally and the sixth-ranked player in Tennessee, is deciding between five schools: Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Mississippi is currently the favorite to land Mills-Knight, with the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine giving them a 94.7% chance. The running back has made multiple visits to each of his top schools, including official visits in June, with Mississippi hosting him seven times overall. Although Miami made a strong push during his official visit in May, they face stiff competition from the other programs.
Mills-Knight has already made his decision and has stated that his choice was based on finding the best opportunity for development as a running back, a solid education, and a chance to compete for a national championship. With Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee all ranked in the AP Top 25, Miami will need to make a compelling case to secure his commitment.
