Alabama’s Jalen Milroe has evolved into a complete quarterback and leader under the team’s new coaching staff.
Reflecting on the preseason, Milroe shared that he felt more relaxed and empowered than ever before, even comparing his current state of preparation to his high school days.
“I feel free to be me out there,” he told ESPN.
Through the first four games of the 2024 season, Milroe has consistently delivered for the Crimson Tide, most recently with an impressive performance in Alabama’s 41-34 victory over Georgia. He passed for 374 yards, rushed for 117, and scored four total touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities. Milroe’s game-winning 75-yard pass to Ryan Williams secured Alabama’s top spot in the AP poll.
Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer praised Milroe’s growth, highlighting how the quarterback has progressed in both passing and running. Milroe’s transformation is also catching the attention of NFL scouts, and he is now a prominent contender in the Heisman Trophy race.
Milroe’s humility and leadership have resonated with his teammates, contributing to Alabama’s early success this season.
