Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris responded calmly to being called “soft” by Indianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin.
The comment came after the Steelers’ 27-24 loss to the Colts in Week 4, where Harris had a tough game, rushing for only 19 yards on 13 attempts. When asked about Franklin’s jab during an interview on October 3, Harris showed little concern.
“He’s a great player, man. We were going back and forth all game,” Harris said,
smiling, as reported by ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.
“It is what it is. You can talk whatever you want. You can’t win them all.” Harris, who has previously expressed that winners have the right to brag, laughed off Franklin’s remarks, even though his own performance was far from stellar. Harris acknowledged Franklin’s victory, saying, “I just laughed when I saw the comment.”
Franklin’s “soft” comment came via social media, responding to a fan who praised the Colts defense for dominating Harris.
Despite the dig, Harris opted for a sportsmanlike approach, avoiding any further trash talk and focusing on his upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Harris hopes to improve his performance against the Cowboys, whose run defense has shown vulnerability this season. However, his struggle against the Colts’ defense remains a concern for Steelers fans.
