Napoli eyes Swap deal for Victor Osimhen as they await Arsenal bid.

Napoli is reportedly open to the possibility of including two Arsenal players, Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu, in a deal that would see their star striker, Victor Osimhen, move to the Premier League club.

This development comes amidst ongoing speculation regarding Osimhen’s future, with Arsenal keen on bolstering their attacking options under manager Mikel Arteta.

Osimhen, who netted 15 goals in Serie A this season, has been linked with a move away from Napoli, with the club’s president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, suggesting earlier this year that the 25-year-old could join Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, or a Premier League team.

Despite this, Napoli has yet to receive formal offers meeting their €130 million (£110.8 million) release clause for the forward.

The Nigerian international has expressed a desire to remain in Europe, despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Arsenal renews interest in Victor Osimhen

As Arsenal renews their pursuit, Corriere dello Sport reports that Napoli is willing to consider a player-plus-cash deal to facilitate the transfer. Specifically, the Italian club is interested in Arsenal’s Smith Rowe and Tomiyasu, both of whom were on Napoli’s radar during the January transfer window.

Emile Smith Rowe, a promising midfielder, struggled for game time this season under Arteta, starting only three Premier League matches.

Arsenal appears open to selling the 23-year-old, with Fulham already identifying him as a top transfer target.

Takehiro Tomiyasu, the versatile Japanese defender, extended his contract with Arsenal in March, making him a valuable asset in any potential negotiations.

Arsenal faces competition for Osimhen’s signature from Chelsea, who have also shown interest but face challenges in financing the high costs associated with his transfer fee and wages. Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel indicated that there is mutual interest between Osimhen and the London club, hinting at a complex transfer battle ahead.

This potential swap deal involving Smith Rowe and Tomiyasu could help Arsenal manage the hefty financial demands of acquiring Osimhen, positioning them as serious contenders for his signature.

The transfer saga is set to be one of the most intriguing storylines of the summer window, with Arsenal fans eagerly awaiting developments.
