Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare will be out for at least two months after undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury before the international break, and it was confirmed upon his return to the club following tests. Sangare, who featured in the first three Premier League games of the season, missed Forest’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield—their first win there since 1969.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed the injury blow after the match, which also saw defender Willy Boly sidelined with a calf issue. While Boly’s injury is not expected to keep him out for long, Sangare’s absence adds to Forest’s growing injury concerns.
Brazilian midfielder Danilo is also out after suffering a broken ankle in the season opener, and he is not expected to return until early next year.
Despite these setbacks, Forest extended their unbeaten run to four games in the Premier League, with Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring the winning goal against Liverpool. Nuno expressed his frustration with the injuries but remained hopeful for Boly’s early return.
