Nottingham Forest is making a final push to sign Santiago Gimenez, a highly sought-after striker, as the summer transfer window nears its close.

With the deadline approaching on Friday night, Forest is intensifying its efforts to secure the forward, following a failed attempt to sign Eddie Nketiah last week. The negotiations with Nketiah hit a snag, forcing Forest to shift their focus to Gimenez.

The club has sent representatives, likely led by Ross Wilson on behalf of owner Evangelos Marinakis, to meet with Gimenez and his father.

Notably, Gimenez does not work with an agent, so these talks will be crucial in convincing him to leave Feyenoord, where he scored 26 goals in the Eredivisie last season, and potentially give up Champions League football for a move to the Premier League.

Forest is determined to wrap up the deal, leaving no stone unturned. If they can persuade Gimenez to join, it could significantly impact the club’s aspirations for the season, possibly pushing them towards a mid-table finish or better.

The outcome of these talks is awaited with great interest as the transfer deadline looms.
