Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Ramon Sosa is proving far more complex than anticipated.
Unlike the straightforward acquisition of Jota Silva for £6 million from Vitoria de Guimaraes, the negotiations for Sosa, a Paraguayan winger currently with CA Talleres, have hit significant hurdles.
Talleres are holding firm on their demand for a fee of up to £16 million, a figure Nottingham Forest has yet to meet.
Sosa, who has drawn interest from Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Everton earlier this year, now finds himself training alone as talks continue. Talleres’ head coach, Walter Ribonetto, has already expressed gratitude for Sosa’s contributions, hinting at an inevitable departure.
However, despite an initial agreement, the deal stalled at the last minute, with Talleres’ president Andres Fassi accusing Forest of altering the terms late in negotiations.
Forest remains determined to secure Sosa’s signature, but until a final agreement is reached, the talented winger can only wait, sidelined from regular training to avoid injury and preserve his chances of a Premier League move.
