Nottingham Forest are set to demand a £30 million fee to sell Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, amid strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
As revealed by senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke on the Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Forest are optimistic about retaining the 23-year-old winger following an impressive debut season at the City Ground.
Hudson-Odoi joined Forest from Chelsea last summer for a bargain £3 million. His first season saw him rejuvenate his career, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in 29 Premier League appearances.
His performances have not only made him a key player for Forest but have also attracted attention from several clubs, including Tottenham and teams abroad.
Forest are looking to capitalize on his successful season, hoping to secure a £27 million profit from his potential sale. Despite the interest, Hudson-Odoi is reportedly content at Forest, enjoying his role and the playing time under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
The club’s initial concerns about meeting profit and sustainability rules were alleviated following the sales of Moussa Niakhate and Orel Mangala before the June 30 deadline. This financial stability means Forest are not under immediate pressure to sell Hudson-Odoi or other key players. However, the substantial offer from Tottenham could be too tempting to refuse.
Hudson-Odoi has two years remaining on his contract with Forest. The club’s management remains hopeful of his continued contribution, recognizing his value to the squad. Meanwhile, Tottenham’s pursuit of the winger suggests they see him as a valuable addition to their squad.
