Manchester City were held to a goalless draw by tittle contenders Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
Following Manchester City’s stalemate with Arsenal, Pep Guardiola has named his top contenders for the Premier League crown.
Liverpool earlier surged to the top of the league table, overcoming Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at Anfield, thanks to a comeback victory.
This win put Liverpool three points ahead of Arsenal and four in front of City before their encounter at the Etihad Stadium.

The match in Manchester ended in a goalless draw, a result that did little to alter the standings significantly.
Consequently, Liverpool now holds a slender lead in the title chase, sitting two points above Arsenal and three clear of Manchester City.
This outcome has positioned Liverpool as the frontrunners in a closely contested race for the Premier League title.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola said Jurgen Klopp’s men are now the favourites to lift the title.
He said: “They are in first position. They are top of the league so that is how it is. There are still nine games to go so we will see what happens.
“Arsenal are the second favourites, we are the third. Whoever is top is favourite. It was in our hands. Now it’s not.”
