Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters has consented to a move to West Ham.

This announcement comes amid reports suggesting that West Ham and Southampton are negotiating a swap deal involving Flynn Downes in exchange for the right-back.

Romano shared the news on his Twitter account, stating:

“Negotiations are underway between West Ham and Southampton for Kyle Walker-Peters and Flynn Downes. Swap deal being discussed and a concrete possibility, as @ExWHUEmployee called it. Kyle Walker-Peters has already said yes to West Ham, but there is still work to be done between the clubs.”

West Ham fans will find this development significant, given the club’s active pursuit of strengthening their squad. Walker-Peters’ agreement to join the Hammers indicates a strong interest from the player, although finalizing the deal hinges on the two clubs reaching a consensus on the swap terms.

There is, however, a notable difference in the valuation of Flynn Downes between the two clubs.West Ham values the midfielder, who hails from Essex and is a dedicated Hammers fan, at over £15 million.

Conversely, Southampton estimates his worth at closer to £12 million. Downes, who spent last season on loan at Southampton, was a standout performer in the Championship, enhancing his appeal in the transfer market.

As negotiations continue, West Ham supporters will be eager to see if the clubs can bridge the valuation gap and successfully conclude the deal, bringing Walker-Peters to the London Stadium while sending Downes to St Mary’s.
