After being knocked out of the playoffs by the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies are reassessing their offseason strategy.

With an eye on improving their outfield offense, the team is reportedly exploring potential trades, including interest in Taylor Ward, a power-hitting left fielder from the Los Angeles Angels.

Ward has been a topic of trade speculation since last offseason, and his name has surfaced again as the Angels appear open to deals. According to Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors, multiple teams are tracking Ward’s availability.

The Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, and San Diego Padres are all viewed as potential suitors for his services this winter.

In 2024, Ward hit 25 home runs, recorded 75 RBIs, and posted a .246/.323/.426 batting line over 156 games. As a seven-year veteran, his experience and power at the plate could provide a significant boost for Philadelphia.

With an expected salary of over $8 million for 2025, acquiring him is seen as a feasible move for the Phillies, who need additional firepower to make another playoff push next season.
