According to reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs are emerging as the frontrunners in a potential midseason trade for DeAndre Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver.

Hopkins, currently with the Tennessee Titans, has struggled to shine this season due to limited opportunities with quarterback Will Levis, who has been criticized for his performance. Despite these challenges, Hopkins remains a top wideout in the league, recording 75 catches for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

The Titans, who were counting on Hopkins to be a key offensive weapon, may become sellers as the season progresses, especially if their playoff chances diminish. Hopkins, who is in the final year of his contract, could become a prime trade target if he continues to play well amid the Titans’ struggles.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport has noted that Hopkins could be one of the top names discussed as the trade deadline approaches.

Both the Steelers and Chiefs are looking for additional firepower as they aim for deep playoff runs. The Steelers, currently 4-0, are seeking to add a veteran receiver to support George Pickens, while the Chiefs may pursue Hopkins to provide quarterback Patrick Mahomes with a reliable receiving option as they face challenges with their current roster of wideouts.

Other teams, including the Ravens, Saints, and Chargers, could also be potential suitors for Hopkins as the trade market heats up.
