Despite significant investments totaling £1 billion since the club’s takeover in 2022, Chelsea finds itself in a precarious position, currently languishing in ninth place in the Premier League.

Pochettino painted a somber picture of the club’s situation, calling for a smarter strategy moving forward to avoid further setbacks.

“We took the risk when we arrived here. And now need to accept and we need try to be positive to help. Because if we want to be better we need to realise, be clever in the way we assess the things that we are doing, the plan.

“The circumstances are bigger than the performances of the players. We cannot blame young guys.

“The strategy for the future should be better, and in our analysis try to be very clinical in our decisions for the future to help not to be in this situation in the future.

“I’m not going to blame the players. The circumstances are bigger than the performances of the players. We cannot blame young guys.

“After suffering some circumstances, you need to come here and fight against a team who is preparing to win the Premier League. That is why [we need to] be careful.

We cannot be unfair with our players. Of course we are disappointed with the performance, but I am not going to use words that are unfair.” Pochettino said.

With financial constraints potentially hindering major squad overhauls, Pochettino faces a challenging task in revitalizing Chelsea’s fortunes.

The club’s adherence to Premier League profit and sustainability regulations further complicates matters.

As discussions loom at the end of the season, Pochettino highlighted the importance of fairness towards the players while acknowledging the need for critical evaluation and decisive action.

With one year remaining on his contract, Pochettino’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain amidst the turbulent landscape of English football.

As Chelsea grapples with their recent woes, the onus falls on the club’s hierarchy to heed Pochettino’s call for astute decision-making in charting a course towards redemption and resurgence.
