Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino questions the motive behind the booing of Raheem sterling by the home fans when he was substituted in the FA cup match against Leeds United for Cole Palmer.
Mauricio Pochettino expressed bewilderment at Chelsea fans booing Raheem Sterling, noting it’s happened before.
Sterling has been contributing occasionally, with eight goals and nine assists this season, Pochettino finds the negativity perplexing, emphasizing Sterling’s commitment to the team.
Despite fluctuations in performance, Sterling’s dedication remains unwavering, attending 99% of training sessions.
When asked about the boos, Pochettino couldn’t understand why it was happening and told The Telegraph:
“Someone told me but I didn’t hear it, I have only been here nine months, I don’t understand why that happens.”
“It is difficult to know why exactly. He is fully committed to Chelsea, is doing well and he is always very committed. He is one of the players who is at 99 per cent of training sessions. Always training and always available. Sometimes he is good, sometimes not so good like all players
The 29 year old Chelsea winger completed a £50m move from Manchester City in 2022, Sterling, The Blues top earner on £300,000 per week, hasn’t met all expectations, but Pochettino believes he’ll have a chance to redeem himself in the upcoming match against Brentford.
Recent reports has linked the English man with offers from Saudi Pro league clubs in the summer transfer window as his future with Chelsea remains uncertain.
Chelsea has identified Raheem sterling’s replacement.
These reports claims the club hierarchy does not consider him as part of the future and are already in the market to identify his replacement. AC Milan winger Raphael Leao and Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise are reportedly high on the summer transfer wishlist of the London giants.
