Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino believes he still enjoys a cordial relationship and support of the club board.

Intense Pressure started mounting on the Argentine tactician after last Sunday Carabao cup lose to Liverpool at Wembley stadium where Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and partner Behdad Eghbali were in attendance.

Responding to questions in his pre-match press conference today about his relationship with Chelsea board, Pochettino responded:

“Yes [I feel it]. After the game, Todd sent a really nice message.”

Pochettino says his future with the club is “not in his hands”  to decide, when asked if the club still believes in him.

“We have a very good relationship with the owners and sporting directors. It’s about trust. It’s not the coach’s decision.”

The Gaffer also played down the rumours that he snubbed a handshake with Todd Boehly after he went to receive his second runner up medal.

Pochettino said: “We were talking and I said hello when I saw them in the stadium. I met Behdad [Eghbali] after and we were talking, we were talking.

“We were sharing the opinion of the game, we were talking about the opportunity we missed to win a trophy because we played really well in 90 minutes. We were not clinical enough.”

Pressure mounts on Pochettino as Chelsea hierarchy considers exit

According to reports, Chelsea are set to review Pochettino’s performance at the end of the current Season before deciding on his future with the club.

Siting in 11th place on the premier league table and still competing in the FA cup after losing his first cup finals with Chelsea last Sunday, his longevity with the west London giants largely depends on how he performs in the remaining competitions.

A defeat to leeds in the fifth round of the Emirate FA cup tie might be the final breaking point of the clubs patience and trust in the manager, a report by Chelsea Chronicle claims.
