The Las Vegas Raiders have encountered a major setback as star wide receiver Davante Adams is expected to miss multiple games due to a hamstring injury.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Adams, who was hurt during Thursday’s practice, is now listed as “week-to-week.” The team has already ruled him out for this Sunday’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately, there is a possibility that Adams could be sidelined for several weeks as he recovers.

Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler, had made a modest start this season with 18 receptions, 209 yards, and one touchdown in the Raiders’ first three games. Hamstring injuries are particularly tough on wide receivers, as they rely heavily on explosive speed and quick movements to create separation from defenders. With the Raiders struggling at 1-2, Adams’ absence could worsen the team’s chances in the upcoming games.

Compounding the challenge is the fact that the Raiders’ bye week doesn’t come until Week 10, meaning they may have to navigate several tough matchups without their top offensive weapon.

Adams had recently made headlines over trade rumors, but now the Raiders must focus on surviving his absence.
