Davante Adams’ time with the Las Vegas Raiders seems to be coming to an end, with reports surfacing that the star wide receiver is seeking an exit “ASAP.”
Teams like the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys have been mentioned as potential landing spots, but one team that appears highly unlikely is the Kansas City Chiefs.
Although the Chiefs could benefit from a top-tier receiver, especially following Rashee Rice’s recent injury, the Raiders are unlikely to strengthen one of their fiercest rivals by sending Adams to Kansas City.
Rumors about Adams’ dissatisfaction with the Raiders have gained traction, particularly after a video hinted at his unhappiness, which was later liked by Raiders’ head coach Antonio Pierce.
Adams himself did little to quell these rumors during an appearance on Up & Adams. Further fueling speculation, reports have indicated that the Raiders are open to trading him and have reached out to other teams to gauge interest.
While it’s clear the Raiders may part ways with Adams, a trade to Kansas City is improbable unless the Chiefs offer a staggering package of draft picks—something similar to the infamous Ricky Williams deal in the 1990s. Fans of the Chiefs should temper their hopes, as such a move remains highly unlikely.
