The Las Vegas Raiders’ 2024 season continues to falter, as the team suffered its sixth consecutive loss in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

Despite the disappointment, rookie tight end Brock Bowers made NFL history with a record-breaking performance.

The Raiders struggled defensively, unable to stop Miami’s potent offense. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a stellar outing, amassing 288 passing yards and three touchdowns while spreading the ball among multiple receivers. Although interim offensive coordinator Scott Turner introduced adjustments that showcased talents like Bowers, the Raiders couldn’t keep up with Miami’s offensive precision and defensive discipline.

Amid the loss, Bowers shone brightly, becoming a focal point for the Raiders’ offense. He recorded 13 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown, setting a new NFL record for the most receptions by a rookie tight end in a single game, surpassing previous marks. Bowers was targeted 16 times by quarterback Gardner Minshew and capitalized on those opportunities, proving why he was hailed as a generational talent out of Georgia.

Miami’s defense focused on restricting big plays downfield, which opened opportunities for Bowers in short and intermediate zones. His ability to gain yards after the catch further highlighted his versatility and potential as an elite offensive weapon.

With their playoff hopes dim, the Raiders must shift their focus to the future, building around standout performers like Bowers. As a cornerstone of their offense, identifying complementary players will be crucial to ensuring long-term success.
