The New Orleans Saints announced two roster moves early this week, signaling ongoing adjustments as they prepare for the second half of the season.

General Manager and Executive Vice President Mickey Loomis confirmed the updates Tuesday, following the team’s back-to-back victories under interim head coach Darren Rizzi.

The Saints re-signed wide receiver and kick returner Jermaine Jackson to their practice squad. Jackson, an undrafted rookie from Idaho, has toggled between the practice squad and active roster throughout the season.

Standing at 5’7″ and weighing 170 pounds, Jackson has appeared in four games this year. His offensive contributions have been limited, recording only one rushing attempt for negative yardage and no receiving targets.

Primarily utilized for his special teams expertise, Jackson has logged seven punt returns with a 9.7-yard average and eight kickoff returns, averaging 23.4 yards. He stepped in as the primary returner after Rashid Shaheed suffered a season-ending knee injury. However, Jackson was briefly released before last week’s win over Cleveland, with Dante Pettis assuming punt return duties during his absence.

To accommodate Jackson’s return, defensive end Trajan Jeffcoat was placed on injured reserve. Jeffcoat, an undrafted rookie from Arkansas, had spent most of the season on the practice squad without seeing game action.

The Saints, now 4-7, have a bye this week and will host the 5-5 Los Angeles Rams on December 1 as they look to build on their recent momentum.
