Manchester City fans can look forward to welcoming Brazilian international winger Savio to their squad next month.
This follows a report that confirms Savio’s transfer, initially revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in February, as the Premier League champions have completed the necessary documentation for his move.
The deal, reportedly worth €40 million, involves ESTAC Troyes, another club within the City Football Group, and has undergone scrutiny by the Premier League for fair market value.
Currently, Savio is focusing on his national duties in the Copa America, coming off an impressive season with Girona in La Liga.
Girona, preparing for their debut in the UEFA Champions League, sees the young Brazilian’s future as pivotal. However, Savio appears committed to playing under Pep Guardiola next season rather than being loaned out again.
According to Premier League Brasil, Savio is expected to join Manchester City in July, aligning with the club’s pre-season tour in the United States. Despite Manchester City’s indecision over retaining or loaning him out for the upcoming season, Savio’s representatives are advocating for his stay at the Etihad Stadium.
In parallel, Manchester City remains active in the transfer market, eyeing additional attacking talents. They have shown interest in Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who is also attracting attention from Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
Additionally, with Julian Alvarez seeking more consistent playing time and drawing interest from Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, City might consider acquiring a new striker.
Overall, Savio’s anticipated arrival marks the beginning of what could be an eventful transfer window for Manchester City as they bolster their squad for the new season.
