Mikel Arteta and Edu have been urged by Arsenal scouts to prioritize the signing of Benjamin Sesko.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is under pressure to pursue RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko when the transfer market reopens.

Scouts from Emirates Stadium have recommended Sesko to Arteta multiple times this season, prompting interest from the Gunners.

While Arsenal has shown attacking prowess, with five instances of scoring four or more goals since the start of the year, sporting director Edu is seeking reinforcements for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Arsenal has been utilizing Kai Havertz in a false-nine role but is considering adding a traditional striker to enhance their squad.

Benjamin Sesko is cheaper and effective compared to other targets.

Sesko has emerged as a viable option, seen as a more budget-friendly choice compared to Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney due to a perceived favorable release clause in his Leipzig contract.

The Gunners are eyeing a £43 million bid, activating Sesko’s buyout clause when the transfer window opens, although they face competition from Chelsea.

Arsenal face competition in the race to sign Benjamin Sesko from London rival Chelsea FC.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been monitoring Sesko’s progress closely, with scouts recommending potential deals after his impressive 11-goal tally this season.

The 20-year-old has drawn comparisons to Erling Haaland, even being deemed superior by some former teammates.

Statistics indicate Sesko’s effectiveness in front of goal, potentially mirroring Haaland’s impact in the Premier League.

While Chelsea believes Sesko could replicate Haaland’s success, Arsenal has long been interested in securing his services.

Despite initial links before the winter transfer window, Arsenal couldn’t make a move midway through the season but have been tracking Sesko’s development since the start of the 2023/24 season.

However, Leipzig aims to retain Sesko until 2025, despite his impending release clause activation, following another fruitful campaign at the Red Bull Arena.
