During the second round of the British Open, Irish golfer Shane Lowry experienced a moment of frustration when he hooked his ball into the trees on the 11th hole.
Lowry, who had started the day strong, reaching seven-under par, encountered trouble when thick rough turned over his club, sending the ball into gorse bushes.
As his ball veered off course, Lowry directed his anger at a nearby cameraman, shouting expletives and demanding the cameraman move away. The incident was captured on a hot mic, with Lowry clearly stating:
“As I was over the ball I could just see you putting your f—kin’ camera up. Just get outta the way. Just get back there. F—k sake!”
Despite this setback, Lowry managed to maintain his composure. After a lengthy rules discussion about where to drop his ball, he executed a blind wedge shot to the front of the green and two-putted for a double bogey.
Remarkably, Lowry rebounded with a birdie shortly after and finished the round with another birdie at the challenging 18th hole, setting the clubhouse lead at seven-under par. As the afternoon progressed, other top players like Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy faced increasing winds and challenging conditions, battling to make the cut.
