Jannik Sinner has continued his impressive form, brushing aside distractions from his ongoing doping controversy to secure a spot in the China Open final against Carlos Alcaraz.

On Tuesday, Sinner defeated Chinese wildcard Bu Yunchaokete 6-3, 7-6(3), extending his winning streak to 15 matches. Despite the immense pressure from both the steroid case and a supportive home crowd for Bu, Sinner remained composed. “It’s a very delicate moment, very difficult, very different,” he admitted, referencing the off-court challenges.

The 23-year-old Italian, who tested positive for trace amounts of a banned substance in March but was cleared of intentional doping, now faces renewed scrutiny after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appealed the decision. Sinner confessed that the case has caused him “sleepless nights.”

In the final, Sinner will face Spanish sensation and second seed Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-3. Alcaraz, chasing his 16th ATP title, has yet to drop a set in the tournament.

The final promises an exciting showdown between two of the sport’s brightest young stars.
