Skip Bayless has publicly advised Tom Brady to prioritize his broadcasting career with Fox over his potential ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.

Brady, who is set to debut as an NFL analyst for Fox in a little over a week, faces significant challenges due to the NFL’s restrictions on his access to teams. These limitations arise from his pending bid to become a 10% owner of the Raiders, a transaction that is still awaiting NFL approval.

Bayless believes that Brady’s commitment to the Raiders could hinder his ability to perform effectively as a top analyst for Fox.

The restrictions would limit Brady’s access to essential team facilities, players, coaches, and production meetings, making it difficult for him to prepare thoroughly for game broadcasts. Additionally, he would be barred from criticizing officials and other teams, which could undermine his credibility as an analyst.

Bayless, a former Fox employee, argues that Brady’s dual roles create a clear conflict of interest. He emphasizes that Brady, who has spent a year preparing for this new chapter in his career, would be doing a disservice to both Fox and his broadcasting aspirations by maintaining his ownership bid. Although owning an NFL team is a rare and lucrative opportunity, Bayless suggests that Brady should reconsider his priorities to avoid compromising his new role at Fox and potentially shortchanging viewers.

Ultimately, Bayless’s plea underscores the difficult decision Brady faces between pursuing a significant ownership opportunity and fulfilling his commitment to providing high-quality NFL analysis for Fox.
