The Pittsburgh Steelers have confirmed the absence of two important players for their upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Defensive tackle Montravius Adams and cornerback Cory Trice Jr. remain sidelined as they continue recovering from injuries. Both players are still within their 21-day windows for a potential return, but neither will be available this week.
Trice, who has been nursing a hamstring injury, has missed three consecutive games. Though he rejoined practice weeks ago, the Steelers face a Thursday deadline to activate him from injured reserve. Failure to do so would rule him out for the remainder of the season.
Meanwhile, Adams, recovering from a torn meniscus, had expressed hope of playing soon but will need at least another week before returning to action. His backup role will continue to be filled by Dean Lowry.
Additionally, linebacker Alex Highsmith is listed as doubtful. Highsmith has been dealing with a severe low ankle sprain and has already missed two games.
His return to the field is also projected for next week, further challenging the Steelers’ defensive depth in a crucial AFC North matchup.
