Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum, who has long admired the late Kobe Bryant, is honoring the NBA legend by wearing Bryant’s iconic No. 10 jersey for Team USA.

Tatum expressed his deep respect and gratitude for this opportunity, describing it as a significant honor and responsibility.

On Monday, Tatum shared his thoughts on the emotional significance of donning Bryant’s number, emphasizing the profound influence Bryant had on him from a young age.

He remarked:”Nothing short of an honor to be able to represent the uniform and wear No. 10. Anybody who remotely knows me knows how much influence that he had on me as a kid aspiring to reach my goals. It’s definitely something I don’t take for granted or take lightly.”

Tatum aims to build on Bryant’s legacy by leading Team USA in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. Having been part of the victorious 2020 Tokyo Olympics squad, Tatum is now setting his sights on securing back-to-back gold medals, a feat Bryant accomplished during his illustrious career.

The Celtics forward’s admiration for Bryant is well-documented, and wearing the No. 10 jersey serves as a tribute to his idol’s legacy both on and off the court.

Tatum’s commitment to carrying this torch reflects his dedication to honoring Bryant’s memory and the inspiration he drew from the late legend’s career and personal ethos.

As Tatum prepares for the Olympics, he remains focused on representing Team USA with the same spirit and tenacity that Bryant exemplified. His goal is not only to win but also to embody the values and competitive drive that made Kobe Bryant a basketball icon.
