Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw strongly believes Kenny Pickett still remains the answer to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback situation.

During a recent appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” the four-time Super Bowl champion didn’t hesitate to express his opinion on what the Steelers should do with Pickett: stick with the 2022 first-round pick. Bradshaw also emphasized that if it were up to him, the Steelers wouldn’t consider trading for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.

Bradshaw opined that: “You don’t need Fields,” he said. “Stay with what you got. Just build (Pickett) up. Get him another receiver. Give him an explosive tight end. Give him another tackle, give him a guard. Have the ability to protect him. And give him guys on the outside. This is a passing league, now. Get him people out there that can run and catch the football that are smart.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, like numerous other teams, have been rumored as a potential trade destination for Fields, who faces job security concerns in the Windy City. While the Steelers have expressed commitment to Pickett, it’s reasonable for them to explore options for improving their quarterback position before the 2024 NFL season.

In addition to pursuing a trade for a quarterback, they could also acquire a new signal-caller through the 2024 NFL Draft, where they hold the 20th overall pick.

Pickett has only completed two seasons in the professional league, suggesting that he may not have reached his full potential. Should the Steelers choose him as their Week 1 starter in 2024, it will likely be a pivotal year for him to prove himself to Pittsburgh, a team that has failed to advance beyond the wild-card round in the last six seasons.
