As the transfer deadline approaches, Nottingham Forest finds itself in a crucial period under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Having made his mark on the squad this summer, Nuno is keen to finalize the team’s composition ahead of the new Premier League season, set to begin soon. The transfer window closes on August 30, and Forest’s management is working diligently to ensure the squad is fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

One of the most notable players facing uncertainty is Joe Worrall, a graduate of the Nigel Doughty Academy, who appears to be nearing the end of his journey with the club.

Sheffield United remains interested in the defender, though any potential move might only materialize closer to the deadline. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Matz Sels faces increased competition following the arrival of Carlos Miguel, making his position as Forest’s first-choice goalkeeper less secure.

Among the other key figures, Willy Boly has secured his future with a new contract that ties him to the club until 2025, with the option to extend further.

Boly, despite not playing every match, remains a crucial part of Nuno’s plans. On the other hand, Emmanuel Dennis, who has been putting in solid performances during recent friendlies, is likely to move on as the club looks to trim the squad.

Young talents such as Murillo and Andrew Omobamidele are also under the spotlight, with the former dismissing speculation about his future and the latter hoping to break into the starting lineup. Midfielder Ryan Yates, fresh from signing a new four-year deal, continues to be a vital presence both on and off the pitch.

In the attacking department, Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood are expected to be key players, provided they can maintain their fitness. Meanwhile, players like Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga, who showed flashes of brilliance last season, will be looking to build on their performances and help the team push higher up the table.

As the window draws to a close, Nottingham Forest’s squad remains a work in progress, but there is a sense of optimism around the City Ground. Nuno Espirito Santo’s influence is evident, and with a few more additions, Forest could be well-equipped to take on the Premier League with renewed vigor.

The coming weeks will be crucial as the club finalizes its roster and prepares for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
