Travis Kelce has opened up about what made him fall in love with Taylor Swift, highlighting her genuine nature and self-awareness.
The Kansas City Chiefs player shared that these traits have significantly contributed to his admiration for the Grammy-winning artist, whom he has been dating for nearly a year.
Speaking on the ‘Bussin‘ With The Boys’ podcast, Kelce explained that Swift’s ability to remain genuine around friends and family, despite her immense fame, played a crucial role in winning his heart.
He described how she never seeks to overshadow him at his games, showing a remarkable level of self-awareness and support.
“She’s very self-aware,” Kelce said. “She understands situations like that, and I think that’s why I really started to fall for her, how genuine she is just around friends and family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention, and she keeps it so chill and so cool, and I can admire it for sure.”
Kelce also praised Swift for her willingness to support his career by attending his games without causing a fuss. He recounted the first time she attended one of his games against the Bears, where she chose to walk through the front door like any other fan, avoiding any special treatment or security arrangements.
“The first game she came to against the Bears, I was like, ‘I can probably set you up with everything,’ and she just walked right through the front door. There’s no like going down, talking to security, making sure she [gets to her seats]. She was like, ‘I just want to be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.’ I was just like, ‘She got points for that.’ She’s in the madness. She wants to be a part of it. She wants to support me and do things like that. She really won me over with that.”
Despite the challenges of dating one of the world’s biggest stars, including the constant presence of paparazzi, Kelce has found joy in merging their fanbases and experiencing the unique dynamics of Swift’s followers. However, he acknowledged the downside of losing privacy due to her high-profile status.
“[Paparazzi] has been the craziest thing,” he said. “Definitely the pulling up to the house, the just random, I don’t know… It’s a different demographic than the NFL, so it’s been cool to dabble in that and see her following and everything. It’s been fun because a lot more kids are into the game and the Chiefs fans have turned. “
