Everton is set to sign a defender as their fifth acquisition of the summer transfer window, according to Alan Myers of Sky Sports.
Myers revealed this update on 26 July via a response on X, emphasizing the club’s urgent need for defensive reinforcements.
So far, Everton has secured the services of Jack Harrison, Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, and Jesper Lindstrom. However, the focus has now shifted to fortifying their defense, particularly the right-back position.
Current right-backs Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman are both in their late 30s, highlighting the need for a long-term replacement to ensure the team’s future stability and continuity.
Strengthening the defense is crucial for the Toffees, who have recently concentrated on bolstering their midfield and attack. The addition of a new right-back would not only provide defensive solidity but also contribute to a balanced squad capable of competing at the highest level.
