As the New York Yankees prepare to kick off a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox , all eyes are on Aaron Judge as he approaches a significant milestone in his career.

In Sunday’s thrilling 8-7 victory over the Texas Rangers, Judge blasted his 299th career home run, putting him on the cusp of breaking Ralph Kiner’s record for the fewest games needed to reach 300 home runs—a record that has stood since Kiner achieved it in 1,087 games. Judge, who has played 952 games since making his MLB debut with the Yankees in 2016, is poised to surpass this milestone.

Reflecting on the potential achievement, Judge, now 32, downplayed its significance unless it contributes to a team victory.

“I think if it comes with a win, it might mean something,” he remarked,

emphasizing his focus on helping the team secure wins. Yankees manager Aaron Boone expressed his admiration for Judge’s consistent excellence, acknowledging that it’s easy to take for granted the extraordinary performances Judge delivers daily.

Through 117 games this season, Judge boasts an impressive .328 batting average, a .462 on-base percentage, and a .699 slugging percentage, leading the MLB with 42 home runs and 106 RBIs. His remarkable season has drawn praise from both teammates and opponents, highlighting the historic nature of his contributions to the game.

As Judge inches closer to this significant milestone, the baseball world watches in anticipation of yet another historic achievement in his storied career.
