Leeds United have a clear opportunity to secure the services of KAA Gent’s Jordan Torunarigha this summer, as the Belgian club is keen to offload the defender.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Gent’s new owners are prioritizing the sale of several players, including Torunarigha, Ismaël Kandouss, Hyun-Seok Hong, Andrew Hjulsager, Tarik Tissoudali, and Nurio Fortuna.

The 26-year-old defender has caught the attention of Leeds United, who have shown interest in him over recent months. Reports from May suggested that the Championship side was keen on Torunarigha following his standout season, and with a price tag of €2.5-3 million, Leeds might find the deal financially viable.

KAA Gent appears to be almost inviting bids for Torunarigha, signaling a strong desire to streamline their squad and bring in new players. Tavolieri’s insights indicate that Gent is eager to finalize these sales swiftly to proceed with their own transfer plans.

Leeds United, who have been in the market for defensive reinforcements, might find this an ideal opportunity to bolster their squad.

The club’s interest in Torunarigha aligns with their strategy to strengthen their defensive lineup, and the player’s availability at a reasonable fee makes it a potentially attractive deal.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds United will act on this opportunity and make a formal bid for Torunarigha. With the Championship season approaching, securing such a key addition could be crucial for their campaign. The situation now hinges on Leeds’ response to Gent’s openness to sell, and whether they see Torunarigha as the right fit for their defensive needs.
