Joao Felix recently shared his thoughts with eSport3 regarding the potential acquisition of Bernardo Silva by Barcelona in the upcoming summer transfer window, hinting at an intriguing development for the Catalan giants.
“Everything I said about Bernardo Silva was true. He has asked me about placed to live in Barcelona, places to eat, the safety here, tax issues. A little bit about everything,”
Felix said referring to a previous interview where he urged Barça to sign him.
He made a huge claim soon after, “I think I have convinced Bernardo to come to Barcelona, but it does not depend on him.”
“If Bernardo comes to Barcelona, I will ask the club for a commission, I think I have convinced him,” he added jokingly.
The positive aspect is that Bernardo’s agreement with Manchester City includes a £50 million (±€58 million) release clause, which becomes active this summer.
However, the drawback is that Barcelona is unlikely to afford this sum for a position that isn’t their priority, such as holding midfield and left-wing.
Barcelona’s Bernardo Silva’s dilemma.
Bernardo Silva’s exceptional versatility and unwavering quality across multiple positions have been highlighted, making him a standout player in the football world.
His ability to seamlessly transition from a right-winger to a number 10 or even a deeper midfield role has solidified his reputation as a rare talent.
Despite Silva’s undeniable allure, experts caution against Barcelona making him their top transfer target.
Instead, they emphasize the club’s pressing need for a holding midfielder and a left-winger.
Only after addressing these critical positions should Barcelona contemplate pursuing Silva, contingent upon their financial capabilities.
